Region System Empty Region System

Mon Mar 11, 2019 12:09 am
Basics.
Each Region is broken down into the seven continents. Each continent has been renamed by the Regions story and Lore. Starting out inside each Region there will be a single city. There can be a Total of 5 cities in a Region at a time. This is based on the Tier of the Region Leader. As the member base grows and PC characters assume the lead as long as they take the needed steps to create new cities within the Region they can do so, only limited by their Tier. Each Regions Capital City is based purely on the Region Leader, if the Region Leader Changes so does the Capital City. Each city made after the Capital remains the same, unless the new city lead goes to 'war' with them. That being said Each Region Leader has a decision they can make. Lead the Region themselves or appoint Council Members. It's important to keep in mind it's like having a team behind you or doing it alone. Each Regions build and appearance stems from the Region Leader.

Example: Bob is a Technician and Doctor. The Region will be known for its Tech Advancements while people see it as a place that is also good to be for Health/Medicine.Example: Sally is a Mobster and Cyborg. The Region will be known for having a Gang run its city while being a place Cyborgs can find refuge.

Can the Regions Name be Changed?
Yes, at the end of every activity check. Each topic in the region will be read through. After that the Newsletter will be complied and released. Depending on the read the Region's Name may be subject to change or remain the same.

What is the purpose of a Region Leader?
They are the strongest person in the Region and the Voice of the people in a sense. They are basically their peoples embodiment. They also are the user base connection to staff. They will have to send things like city census to the staff, or handle general problems among their regions user base. This is to help ease the work load on staff, while also helping Me keep everything neat and in order.

What makes each Region different?
It's all up to each Regions member base. Things are subject to change only depending on how each story affects the Region.

How does the A. I. affect the region and cities?
The CRWN A. I. has a core in each Capital. This is the Main A. I. that each PC and NPC in the region operate off of. Each Core A. I. runs everything from the lights to the Regions Alert System. The CORE A. I. System can be found HERE. This A. I's voice and personality are based upon the regions original lore and cannot be changed. They alter themselves based upon what happens in the Region.

Cities.
The Capital city, like many cities in the world today, has a inner city and outer city. Depending on how the Region Leader uses the city treasury; can determine if both the inner and outer cities are developed as they should be. How the funds are spent can determine if a 'Ghetto' will be developed in the outer city. Keep in mind as a Region Leader this can cause unrest in your citizens. Not properly taking care of your Region in a way can lead too things such as Civil Wars and Coup D'é·tat(s). The Capital city is the driving force behind the Region. It can make or break a characters reputation on the forum. If not taken care of properly it could cause a Character to lose the rights to being a Region Leader in the eyes of the world. Meaning if they were to come into power their past mistakes will cause their entire Region to be frowned upon. This would ostracize the Capital City and outlying cities. They would lose help from the Regions past allies and may be raided by other Regions for information and tech. In this event, NPC and PC representing other Regions can invade private threads, attempt to raid the treasury, or attempt to steal tech. Each Capital City has tech that the other doesn't. This is to keep the forum unique and creative. The Goal for the Region Lead is to progress their Capital without losing it's uniqueness. In other-words keeping its core values intact, whether that be through intentional isolation from the world ,constant information trading/gathering, or taking what is needed for the Capital to progress. Keep in mind your actions affect the Capital in the eyes of the world in many ways. New cities can be built only after having at least 10,000 NPC citizens, and purchasing land from the World Bank.

City Rules depend on the Region Leader. If the Region Leader is a 'bad guy' then there would be minimal to no rules at all. If they are viewed as a 'goody goody' then things such as a Police Force would enforce the Regions laws. That being said regardless of the Cities build the Region Leader can enforce themselves through whatever means they see fit. A few examples could be having a certain thread count within the week, not posting in certain regions or peoples threads, or being able to post in someones thread within your region regardless of their consent. Region Leaders keep in mind there should be some sort of balance to these rules. Whether that's needing a certain Tier to post or being a certain rank. This of course applies to the before mentioned examples directly. I implore everyone to come up with their own city rules. This also helps keep each region unique in every sense.

A cities build should be built around whoever is leading the city. Cities that are actually built around their leads receive boosts in Money after jobs, offensive and defensive boosts, lower word counts on training, and EXP boosts to people who have at least one class similar to the Region Leader. However, that being said any city after the Capital can be built in any format, but will not receive the before mentioned increases. Here on GC we have a System called 'Last Call' many may have heard of something similar at their local bar. Here it means life or death for a character. Once fatally injured a PC can roll the 'Last Call' dice. This gives a character a 25% chance of survival. If your roll lands on 'Survivor' then a  NPC will post in your thread, stabilize the character, and transfer them to the nearest Major Hospital. From there you can opt for your character to be turned into a Cyborg or remain in the Hospital for at least a 3,000 word count in total. This thread or threads should explain the basics such as surgery, recovery, and rehabilitation. Each needing 1,000 words at the least.

What do you mean by, 'any city after the Capital can be built in any format, but will not receive the before mentioned increases'?
As stated before cities are built around the class of its leader. However in the case of a Region Leader leading on his or her own any secondary city doesn't need to be based off of their class. For instance A Cyborg/Doctor Region Leader leading on their own could have a Hospital that specializes in saving/repairing cyborgs. The secondary city is built and the Region Lead decides to have a Weapons factory be the largest source of production for that city; the secondary city would receive no boosts due to the fact the Region lead specializes in Medical Technology.

How do the Treasuries work?
Treasuries are the culmination of PC user job completions. 10% of the jobs reward is sent to the Treasury. The money stored in the Treasury is used to upgrade cities in various ways. It can also be used to purchase tech from other Regions and Land to build new cities.

How many citizens are there per city, does the city region matter to that number?
There are 1,000 NPC citizens for every PC. It is up to the Region Leader to keep track of these things for the staff. This will help determining the severity of world events in relation to the Region, When a new city can be Purchased/Built, the Regions World Rank etc. No the Region does not matter to the citizen count.

How do invasions work exactly?
There are Mass invasions and Team invasions. A mass invasion only can occur when there is a shift in power in a Region. Whether that be through a civil war, coup, or Region Leader change. These are the only instances when a Region can Invade another, unless both sides agree to War. Team invasions consist of a team of 3 to 5 PC characters and can be done correctly only if approved by the Region Leader. What we here on GC are trying to do is keep a sense of nationalism in a sense. A unauthorized invasion can lead to problems for the invading region. Which in turn will fall upon the Region Leader. That being said Team Invasions don't need to be authorized, however if caught there will be penalties. For instance your characters can be imprisoned, and you cannot contact your Region Leader and will be deemed a war criminal by said Region.  On the other hand you'll be considered a deserter in your Region.

If i don't roll 'Survivor', but someone I knows is a Doctor class. Can they post in the thread saving me?
The Answer to that question is yes. You will have exactly 12 hours after your characters injury to be saved by a PC. Keep your Regions Rules in mind. There may be something in place to prevent help from outside Regions/Sources. Your character would still need a 'Rest' thread. In this case the surgery portion of the word count can be excluded. Keep in mind your chance to become a Cyborg for free will become null and void.
